About Me

My name is Jill Bishop, but I have come to be known as “Jill of All Trades.” I created this company to put all of my energy into the parts of the industry I love the most. That includes focusing on client satisfaction and project coordination to make the renovation process as easy as possible for the wonderful people I meet doing the job that I love.

I was born and raised in Victoria, BC, and am now living in Cobble Hill. Customer service has been a large component of every job I have had, from pumping gas and running gas/convenience stores from the ’80s to the ’00s, to working with Thunderbird Home Centers focused on home lighting, tile, plumbing and electrical rough-in and lighting, kitchen cabinets, and countertops

For the last ten years plus I have been deep in client services, design, and project coordination for kitchens, bathrooms, and offices for homeowners, property management companies, and restoration companies. I have helped over 400 clients a year achieve their dream homes while simultaneously dealing with fire and flood insurance claims of all sizes for people in need.

Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to my FAQ. Don't see what you are looking for here? Just send me a note through my contact page and I will get back to you in no time.

How much do you charge?

JOAT offers free in home consultations, with hourly rates for design work. The fee for project coordination is based on project complexity and 15% of trade invoices.

What areas do you service?

We will provide services to anyone on Vancouver Island as well as the Gulf Islands that make up our coastline. Some outlying communities make it cost prohibitive for us to visit you free of charge. For those communities, I have had much success with video chat, followed up by photographs and rough measurements in order to provide you with a free quotation. For all clients in the Greater Victoria Area, as well as Cobble Hill, Duncan, and Nanaimo, we will not have any trouble making out to see you in short order.

What types of products do you use?

Quality and durability guide our decisions with respect to hardware. We have access to many brands and types of hardware and cabinet interior accessories, so if there is something particular you are looking for there is a good chance we can source it for you.

What is the turnaround time for cabinetry?

Depending upon the complexity of the project, and which door material is involved, anywhere from 3-8 weeks for custom cabinetry.

Do you do contracting or only cabinets?

Yes we offer project coordination services as well as supply and installation of cabinetry for any room in your home or office.

What type of payment do you accept, and what is the payment schedule?

EFT checks or cash are accepted at this time. The payment schedule for cabinetry is:

  1. Cabinetry: 50% to commence production
  2. The next 30% prior to delivery
  3. The balance upon completion

For Project Coordination:

Some trades we work with require deposits in advance and some overall project values will require deposits of between 30-50%.
